Qur’an Surah 7:26

O ye Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness, that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition!

It is important to cover oneself and be modest in appearance, behavior and temperament. But clothing does not have to be drab and dowdy. The clothes we wear can be fashionable, so long we are not showy about our bodies (Allah knows best).

Islamic fashion, i.e., fashion that conforms to Islamic concept of modesty, can be beautiful and creative. Some of us look to create our own Islamic styles as our own style of expression.
